FAQ
Questions firms ask before they start.
Microsoft licences, your data, prices, phones and getting set up. Anything else, email support@sitecabinapp.co.uk.
Microsoft 365
Do we need Microsoft 365?
Yes. Everyone signs in with their Microsoft work account, and your files are saved in your own SharePoint. You need Microsoft 365 for business, with your firm's own email domain. Personal Microsoft accounts can't sign in.
Do site staff need a paid Microsoft licence?
No. A free account in your Microsoft 365 is enough for someone to sign in to SiteCabin. Your Microsoft admin makes the account in the Microsoft 365 admin centre and doesn't need to give it a licence.
What can SiteCabin see in our Microsoft 365?
One SharePoint site, which SiteCabin makes for you during setup, and one office mailbox that you choose for it to send from. Nothing else: not your other SharePoint sites, your Teams files, anyone's OneDrive or anyone else's email.
Who has to approve SiteCabin in Microsoft?
Your Microsoft admin, once, during setup. The approvals are on Microsoft's own screens, and your admin can see or remove them in Microsoft Entra at any time.
Your data
Where are our records kept?
Photos, certificates, timesheet files and workbooks are saved in the SiteCabin site in your own SharePoint. The records that make the app work, such as who works for you and their timesheet entries, are kept in SiteCabin's database in London.
Can another firm see our records?
No. Every firm's records are kept apart by the database itself, so one firm can never see another's.
Does SiteCabin use AI?
No. SiteCabin has no AI built in, and your records are never sent to an AI service.
Can we get our records out?
Yes. Your files are already in your SharePoint. On top of that, an admin can download all your SiteCabin records as one Excel workbook, from App settings, at any time.
Where can our IT person read more?
On Your data, which covers permissions, backups, who helps us run SiteCabin and how to cut it off. Our draft data processing agreement is published too.
Prices and billing
How much does SiteCabin cost?
£75 a month covers your first 3 people. Each extra person then adds £25 (people 4 to 10), £20 (people 11 to 25) or £15 (from the 26th). The price box on the home page works out your monthly price as you type.
Who counts as a person?
Everyone who signs in to SiteCabin, including subcontractors and the office. Someone who joins part way through a month is charged for the days left in that month, on the next bill. Someone who leaves has already been paid for to the end of the month, and comes off the next bill.
Do prices include VAT?
No. Prices are shown before VAT. Where VAT is charged, it is added to your bill and shown on your invoice.
How does the free month work?
You add a card when you start, and nothing is taken for the first month. Your first bill comes a month after you start. You'll get an email before the free month ends.
Is there a contract or a notice period?
No. SiteCabin is monthly, with no fixed term. If you cancel, everything keeps working to the end of the month you've paid for, then the app is read-only until you start again.
If you close your account for good instead, it works to the end of the month you've paid for, then your records in SiteCabin are deleted 30 days later. Your files stay in your SharePoint either way. Billing, invoices and closing your account has the steps.
What is the founders' discount?
The first 50 firms from the waiting list get £25 off every month for their first 12 months, from their first payment. If your firm is one of them, we'll email you a code to enter when you start your free month.
How do we pay, and where are our invoices?
By card, through Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach SiteCabin. Your admins can change the card and download invoices from the Billing card on App settings.
Phones and devices
Does SiteCabin work on phones?
Yes. It runs in the web browser on any phone, tablet or computer, and can be added to the home screen so it opens like an app. There is nothing to install from an app store.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
They're coming soon. Until then, the web app works on both.
Getting started
How long does setup take?
About an hour for most firms, done by your admin from a laptop. How it works goes through the steps.
Can we use our own logo and colours?
Yes. Put your logo, colours and name in once, in Company settings, and every screen your team sees is yours.
Which trades is SiteCabin for?
Trade and building firms in the UK. Timesheets, holidays, vans, safety paperwork, jobs and quotes suit any trade. Plumbing and heating firms also get the heating forms and the service round; see plumbing and heating.
When can we start?
SiteCabin opens soon. Join the waiting list and we'll email you when you can start your free month.
