Add your people
Add each person with their role, send their invitation, and help them make a Microsoft account if they need one.
What everyone needs
Everyone signs in with a work account in your firm's Microsoft 365. Site staff don't need a paid licence: a free account in your Microsoft 365 is enough.
Making a Microsoft account for someone
If someone doesn't have a work account yet, your Microsoft admin makes one in the Microsoft 365 admin centre:
- Go to Users, then add a user.
- Put in their first name, last name and display name.
- Give them a username on your firm's own domain, not one ending onmicrosoft.com.
- Let Microsoft create a password, and make them change it when they first sign in.
- Choose Create user without product licence, and leave their role as an ordinary user.
- Note the username and temporary password to give them.
Adding them to SiteCabin
Open the People screen
In SiteCabin, open the People screen and find the Add a person card.
Fill in their details
Put in their first name, last name and work email, and choose their role: Operative, Subcontractor, Site manager, Office or Admin.
Send the invitation
Tick Also email the invitation if you'd like SiteCabin to email it, then press Add person.
You can also copy the invitation, or share it by text or WhatsApp.
Set what each person does
On the same screen, set the ticks for what each person can do, such as filling in gas forms.
Someone you've added isn't on your bill until they first sign in. Everyone who signs in counts, including subcontractors and the office.
The invitation tells them to open the app, press Sign in with Microsoft, then add SiteCabin to their phone's home screen so it opens like an app.
